Burns & Wilcox Expands in Los Angeles, Launching Downtown Presence

LOS ANGELES (November 30, 2017) – H.W. Kaufman Group announced today the opening of its newest office in downtown Los Angeles, California for Burns & Wilcox – North America’s leading specialty wholesale insurance broker and underwriting manager – and Burns & Wilcox Brokerage – a distinct business unit exclusively focused on large, complex wholesale brokerage.

The office, located at 515 S. Flower St, Los Angeles, CA 90071, marks the second location in the greater Los Angeles area and seventh major location for Burns & Wilcox in the golden state outside of San Francisco, Sacramento, Fresno and San Diego.

“For more than 30 years Burns & Wilcox has steadily grown in one of the largest E&S markets in the country – California,” said Alan Jay Kaufman, Chairman, President, and CEO, H.W. Kaufman Group, parent company of Burns & Wilcox. “An expanded presence in Los Angeles will strengthen our relationships and deliver unmatched service and expertise to our brokers, agents, and partners.”

The new location will feature a combined team of Burns & Wilcox and Burns & Wilcox Brokerage professionals, specializing in Professional, Casualty, and Property insurance services of all sizes and complexity. Timothy D. Burnett, Corporate Vice President and current Managing Director of Woodland Hills, will serve as Managing Director of Los Angeles – spearheading Burns & Wilcox operations in the new office – reporting directly to Harvey Goldenberg, Executive Vice President, Burns & Wilcox, who oversees California, based in San Francisco. Dennis Fox will serve as Associate Managing Director of Los Angeles – spearheading Burns & Wilcox Brokerage operations – reporting directly to Denis Brady, President, Burns & Wilcox Brokerage in San Francisco.

“Our goal is to deliver a seamless experience to retail brokers and agents in the area,” said Goldenberg. “Through a united working environment, we are able to provide coverage for any and all unique risks that exist in the state.”

“The new office is in the heart of downtown Los Angeles—attracting talent seeking a career with substantial long-term growth potential,” said Brady. “The opportunities within the Kaufman companies are limitless, and we will continue to invest in educating, developing and growing our team.”
