Michigan’s Largest Insurance Company Burns & Wilcox Becomes Official Partner of the Detroit Red Wings

DETROIT (September 13, 2017) – Burns & Wilcox, North America’s leading wholesale insurance broker and underwriting manager, today officially announced a new partnership deal with Olympia Entertainment and the Detroit Red Wings. As an official partner, the Burns & Wilcox logo will be visible at center ice along with three other major partners at the new home of the Detroit Red Wings, Little Caesars Arena.

“We’re excited to announce our partnership with Burns & Wilcox, an industry leader headquartered here in Metro Detroit,” said Tom Wilson, President and CEO of Olympia Entertainment. “The state-of-the-art Little Caesars Arena is a sports fan’s dream, featuring countless sights and sounds to enjoy while cheering on the Red Wings. One of the most prominent locations is at center ice where the Burns & Wilcox logo is displayed – right in the middle of the action.”

Since its founding in 1969, Burns & Wilcox has remained dedicated to the local economy in Metro Detroit, despite major insurance hubs existing outside the state of Michigan. The business has grown to a multi-billion dollar global powerhouse, gaining status as the largest insurance company in Michigan.

“Expanding Team Burns & Wilcox by partnering with the 11-time Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings will further elevate the profile of Burns & Wilcox and insurance in our home market. We are dedicated to the renaissance of Detroit, and are excited to align ourselves with the competitive drive, results, and commitment that the Detroit Red Wings represent,” said Alan Jay Kaufman, Chairman, President, and CEO, H.W. Kaufman Financial Group, and its largest subsidiary Burns & Wilcox. “Burns & Wilcox is committed to Michigan’s insurance industry, including educating future business talent and increasing awareness for insurance as a sustainable, stimulating, and lucrative career path.”

The Detroit Red Wings will host the first-ever regular season home game at Little Caesars Arena on Thursday, Oct. 5, against the Minnesota Wild. This marks the latest professional sports sponsorship for Burns & Wilcox, including golf’s 2012 U.S. Open winner Webb Simpson and 2016 PGA champion Jimmy Walker.
