Farmington Hills, Mich. (August 7, 2023) – H.W. Kaufman Group, a privately held, global insurance organization, today announced the hiring of David R. Janis as General Counsel and a member of the company’s leadership team.

Based at Kaufman’s corporate headquarters in Farmington Hills, Michigan, Janis reports to Jodie Kaufman Davis, Executive Vice President, H.W. Kaufman Group.
Janis’ responsibilities include providing counsel on transactions, contracts and litigation, while working closely with the company’s Compliance department. Additionally, he will deploy best practices for corporate governance, while building a responsible and responsive framework for strategic risk management and mitigation.

For nearly 20 years, Janis has worked as a practicing attorney and corporate advisor. Previously, he served as Associate General Counsel at Rocket Mortgage in Detroit. As an active member of the company’s Risk Advisory Group and Risk Counsel, Janis set the strategy for and authored Codes of Conduct, Ethics, Information Security and Vendor Management.
