Kaufman Group, a privately held, global insurance organization, today announced that Alan Jay Kaufman, Chairman, President and CEO, has been recognized by Business Insurance with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award and inducted into the Insurance Hall of Fame.
The honor recognizes industry leaders annually who have made outstanding contributions to the risk management and insurance sector throughout their careers. The previous winners include transformative leaders who have had an immeasurable impact on the industry.
Mr. Kaufman formally received the award during the Business Insurance U.S. Insurance Awards ceremony on July 19 in New York City

Additionally, Mr. Kaufman actively serves on numerous Boards, including Business Leaders for Michigan, Detroit Zoological Society, Detroit Economic Club; St. John’s University Greenberg School of Insurance, Risk Management and Actuarial Science in New York City, and Walsh College (Detroit). Mr. Kaufman is also the immediate Past President of the United Jewish Foundation of Metropolitan Detroit.
